PHOTO: SUV Slips Into Creek in Vienna During Wintry Weather

The snow and icy roadways made for treacherous driving this week. A driver in the Vienna area landed their SUV in a creek at Foxstone Park at Creek Crossing Road.

State Police fielded hundreds of calls for crashes and disabled vehicles in just a four-hour period on Thursday.

There were 1,155 calls for service statewide between noon and 4 p.m., when much of the snow began falling across Virginia.

Foxstone Park has been in the headlines before. It’s the place where FBI spy Robert Hanssen was caught in 2001 passing secrets (”dead drops”) to the Soviets. He was convicted of spying for the Soviet Union and Russia.
