VIENNA, VA – The long-awaited Shipley Do-Nuts location in Vienna has finally opened its doors.

The new shop on 256 Maple Avenue E has been anticipated since the beginning of the year. Shipley Do-Nuts is known for its glazed donuts and kolaches, an Eastern European stuffed pastry popularized in Texas by immigrants from Czechia and elsewhere.

The southern donut and kolache chain was launched in Texas in by Lawrence Shipley 1936 and has expanded to more than 350 company-owned and franchise stores across 14 states. The brand opened 35 new locations in 2025, including its first locations in Virginia. The chain made its Virginia debut in Lynchburg.

The company was purchased by Austin-based private equity firm Peak Rock in 2021 and was sold to California-based private equity firm Levine Leichtman Capital Partners in 2025, according to the Houston Chronicle.
