Shopper Causes Mayhem At Vienna CVS: Crime Report
Vienna Police responded to a crash involving a bicyclist and other incidents within the last week.

VIENNA, VA—Vienna Police responded to a variety of incidents reported the week of Sept. 21-27, from a crash with a bicycle and an angry shopper at CVS.
We've rounded up the most notable incidents below. An arrest does not always mean police took someone into custody. An arrested individual is not automatically guilty of a crime.

CVS
337 Maple Avenue, East
September 22 1:19 a.m.
A woman came into the store, shopping for burritos. She brought the burritos to the register and asked the cashier for cigarettes. The woman became irate and disorderly when the employee informed her the store does not sell cigarettes. The woman threw the burrito at the employee, knocked over a display and the register, then fled out the front door. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the woman.
Suspicious Event 18-007856
AT&T Wireless
211 Maple Avenue, East
Between May 1 at 9:00 a.m. and September 24 at 10:30 a.m.
An employee reported that during an inventory of the store they discovered a display phone was
missing.

Crash: Glyndon Street and Church Street, NE 18-007715
September 19 3:00 p.m.
Vehicle-1 was traveling westbound on Church Street at Glyndon Street. Vehicle-2 (a bicycle) was
traveling northbound on Glyndon Street, approaching Church Street. As Vehicle-2 entered the
intersection, his rear wheel was struck by Vehicle-1. Driver-2 suffered a minor injury.
Burglary 18-007842
500 Block Stephen Circle, SW
September 21 between 10:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m.
A resident reported that an unknown person entered the residence and rummaged through some of
the rooms. A few items were noticed missing from one of the resident’s purses.
Petit Larceny 18-007806
400 Maple Avenue, East
September 22 between 10:00 a.m. and 12:40 p.m.
An employee in the shopping center reported one of her license plates was stolen from her vehicle
while it was parked in the parking lot. On September 24 the license plate was recovered by the
Fairfax County Police Department.
Animal Case – Quarantine 18-007805
Vienna Community Center
120 Cherry Street, SE
September 22 10:20 a.m.
A citizen was riding his bike in front of the Community Center. As he rode the bike past a man
with a dog, the dog bit the bicyclist on the leg.
The dog’s owner was advised of the 10-day quarantine. ACO Barker will follow up on this case.
Trespassing 18-007837
Wolftrap Hotel
430 Maple Avenue, West
September 23 12:32 p.m.
An employee reported that a man staying in one of the rooms was behaving inappropriately toward
one of the maids. The employee requested assistance in trespassing the man from the premises.
The man was advised he may be charged with trespass if he returns.
