Spike In Car Break-Ins Reported In Vienna: Police
In one of the incidents, the suspect took keys from one unlocked car and stole another car.

Vienna Police have seen an increase in car-break-ins and larcenies within the last week, according to the latest crime report.
Police say seven incidents happened between June 21 and June 27. Most were reported in the northeast section of town, although there were a few from other areas.
In four of the incidents, residents reported items were stolen. Of note, a resident in the 400 block of Council Drive NE told police someone entered an unlocked car, stole keys to another vehicle and stole that other vehicle.

Vienna Police remind residents to secure vehicles and remove valuables. Here are the details for all of the recent car break-ins:
Stolen Vehicle and Petit Larceny 18-005098 / 18-005113
400 Block Council Drive NE
Between June 21 at 5:00 p.m. and June 22 at 7:00 a.m.
A resident advised someone entered their unlocked vehicle, rummaged through it and stole the
keys to their other vehicle and some spare change. The unknown person, using the keys they had
just taken, then stole their other vehicle.

Petit Larceny 18-005122
400 Block Council Drive, NE
Between June 21 at 7:00 p.m. and June 22 at 7:00 a.m.
A resident reported that someone opened their unlocked vehicle and stole loose change from the
console.
Vehicle Tampering 18-005105
400 Block Council Drive, NE
Between June 21 at 10:00 p.m. and June 22 at 9:00 a.m.
A resident reported that someone rummaged through her vehicle. Nothing appeared to be missing.
Petit Larceny 18-005110
500 Council Court, NE
Between June 21 at 11:00 p.m. and June 22 at 11:00 a.m.
A resident advised someone entered her unlocked vehicle, rummaged through it and stole her
wallet.
400 Block Windover Avenue, NW
Between June 26 at 6:00 p.m. and June 27 at 6:00 a.m.
A resident reported that someone rummaged through their unlocked vehicle.
Petit Larceny 18-5223
800 Block Park Street, SE
Between June 26 at 8:30 p.m. and 8:00 a.m.
A resident reported that someone entered his unlocked vehicle and stole his wallet.
Vehicle Tampering 18-005224
200 Block Whispering Wind Court, SE
Between June 26 at 11:15 p.m. and June 27 at 9:00 a.m.
A resident reported that someone rummaged through their unlocked vehicle.
