Stolen Dirt Bike, Numerous Vehicle Break-Ins Reported In Vienna
Vienna Police responded to 13 vehicle break-ins or attempts within a few days.
VIENNA, VA — A stolen dirt bike incident and 13 vehicle break-ins were among the incidents Vienna Police responded to within the last week.
The dirt bike was stolen in the 200 block of Paris Court SW sometime between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m. on Sept. 11. At 7:43 a.m., an employee at the Shell gas station at 545 Maple Avenue West told police he found a dirt bike in metal storage containers. Surveillance footage found a man arrived and parked his vehicle at Shell around 2 a.m. He returned on the dirt bike around 4 a.m. After failing to load the dirt bike in his vehicle, he left it in the storage containers.
The man tried to return for the bike at 10 a.m. When the employee called police, the man fled before officers arrived.

Later that day, a resident reported the bike had been stolen from his unsecured garage. Police have not announced an arrest.
The latest police report also showed a spike in vehicle break-ins or attempted break-ins. Most of the 13 incidents happened between the night of Sept. 10 and early morning of Sept. 11 in the northwest part of town.

A resident reported that an unknown person entered his unlocked vehicle, rummaged through it, and took some change.

Between September 10 at 7:15 p.m. and September 11 at 11:00 a.m.
A resident reported that an unknown person entered her three vehicles and rummaged through them taking a first aid kit and two pairs of sunglasses.

Between September 10 at 8:20 p.m. and September 11 at 5:45 a.m.
A resident reported that an unknown person entered his unlocked vehicle and rummaged through it.
Nothing appeared to have been taken.

Between September 10 at 9:00 p.m. and September 11 at 7:00 a.m.
A resident reported that an unknown person entered his two vehicles. A first aid kit and gloves were taken from one vehicle. Nothing appeared to be missing from the second vehicle.

A resident reported that her security camera showed an unknown person attempted to enter her vehicle.
However, her vehicle was locked which prevented the person from gaining entry

A resident reported that an unknown person entered her unlocked vehicle, rummaged through it and stole a couple of dollars in change.

A resident reported that an unknown person entered two of her unlocked vehicles. Nothing appeared to have been taken.

200 Block Lovers Lane, NW
September 11 3:19 p.m.
A resident in the 100 block of Mendon Lane found a wallet in front of his residence. An officer contacted the owner of the wallet. The owner advised that he left his unlocked vehicle parked overnight on Lovers Lane on September 10. On the morning of September 11, he found that an unknown person had entered the vehicle, rummaged through it, and took his wallet. U.S. currency was missing from the wallet.
