STUDENTS RECEIVE INDIVIDUALIZED TUTORING WITH ASSISTANCE LEAGUE OF NORTHERN VIRGINIA'S READING EXPRESS PROGRAM
Join the literacy program which develops reading skills of at-risk first grade students who may be struggling with basic reading.

ASSISTANCE LEAGUE® OF NORTHERN VIRGINIA, a 100% volunteer nonprofit organization, invites members of the community to join its team of member volunteers providing important services to children in need.
Philanthropic Program
Our literacy program, Reading Express, enhances language and reading comprehension skills of at-risk first grade students at Providence Elementary School. Implemented in 2004, the books-on-tape program provides identified students the resources needed to facilitate reading activities at home. Additionally, students in our program meet regularly with member volunteers who donate their time and talents to the program. During Tuesday sessions, members interact one-on-one with students, introducing educational games and hand-on activities to advance learning.
