Tango Pastry Café Brings Argentine Flavors To Vienna

VIENNA, VA — Argentine pastries and other café items are the latest addition to Vienna's dining scene.

As Vienna marked the opening of new senior living community Sunrise of Vienna, it also welcomed Tango Pastry Café. The business held its grand opening July 29 at 380 Maple Ave. W, Vienna, VA.

Tango Pastry Café is a café specializing in traditional Argentine bakery and pastry products. The first location had opened in Fairfax County's Richmond Highway corridor in 2011, but it gained new ownership in 2022 from Chef Katriel Menéndez, owner of Argentine Chef, who brought his passion for Argentine cooking and culture.

In Vienna, Sunrise of Vienna invited Tango Pastry Café to open at their new senior living community, Analía Ferrer, a spokesperson for Tango Pastry Café's owner Argentine Chef, told Patch that Menéndez "embraced the opportunity."

"Our aim is to contribute to the local community by providing a comfortable and inviting ambiance where customers can relax and enjoy authentic Argentine beverages and delicacies," said Ferrer. "We want to be a place that not only offers a delightful culinary experience but also serves as a haven for those seeking a moment of solace amidst their busy days."

Tango Pastry Café's menu offers sweet and savory options, such as the traditional Facturas, Alfajores, Cañoncitos with Dulce de Leche, Empanadas, Tea Sandwiches and more. Coffee, smoothies and other drinks are also available.

"What sets Tango Pastry Café apart from other coffee shops in the area is our commitment to offering products made from traditional Argentine recipes," said Ferrer." While our Latino brothers and sisters may find similarities in some recipes, our café stands out by adding unique twists that showcase the diverse flavors of Argentina."

The Vienna location is pet friendly and includes an outdoor patio.
