Tech And Cyber Career Fair Planned In Fairfax County

Candidates seeking jobs in tech and cyber fields can join a virtual or in-person networking and hiring event.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA — Those seeking a career in tech and cyber fields can find career and networking opportunities at an event held by the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority.

The networking and hiring event will be held in person Tuesday, Jan. 31 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at at Capital One Hall, 750 Capital One Tower Rd., Tysons, VA. A virtual event will be held through online meeting portal Premier Virtual on wednesday, Feb. 1, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The event is free for job candidates.

The event will feature a range of employers in various sectors, from information technology, aerospace and cybersecurity to health care. Among the major employers participating are the Federal Bureau of Investigation, General Dynamics and Inova Health System.

The Fairfax County Economic Development Authority and partners have held networking and hiring events since 2020 to attract and retain job candidates in the region. Northern Virginia in particular has growing tech and cyber sectors, with over 17,000 technology companies in the region and a location near federal agencies.

"Many of us are thinking about what a truly meaningful career can be, and here in Northern Virginia we are proud to be home to employers and professions that provide that sense of purpose many of us are searching for," said Victor Hoskins, president and CEO of the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority, in a statement. "Cybersecurity, aerospace, IT – these industries fuel global innovation, safety, and exploration, and it all happens right here on the doorsteps of the nation’s capital."

Job candidates of all backgrounds and experience levels are welcome at the event and do not need to live in Northern Virginia.

The event will also have free educational sessions by LinkedIn and free professional headshots. The economic development authority and Women in Technology will offer discounted memberships.
