Thefts From Post Office Collection Boxes Reported In Vienna
The Town of Vienna urged residents to check that important mail was received if they use collection boxes near the Vienna post office.

VIENNA, VA — Thefts from post office collection boxes have been reported several times this year, according to the Town of Vienna.
The incidents impacted collection boxes at Church Street and Lawyers Road, which is near the Vienna U.S. Postal Service location at 200 Lawyers Road NW. According to the police department, the most recent incident occurred overnight on Nov. 22 to 23.
Mail theft or tampering investigations are handled by the U.S. Postal Inspection Service. Reports of mail theft or tampering can be made online. Vienna Police will refer any mail theft or tampering reports to the Postal Inspection Service.

Anyone who sees suspicious activity at mail collection boxes can contact the Vienna Police Department. Emergencies can be reported to 911, and the non-emergency number is 703-255-6366.
Residents who used the Church Street and Lawyers Road collection boxes in the Nov. 22 to 23 timeframe are urged to check if important mail is received.
