There’s Still Time To Catch Fall Festivals Near Vienna
Fall offers opportunities to have fun outside, including a children's fall leaves walk, trunk or treat, Vienna Halloween Parade and more.
VIENNA, VA — Fall is a great time to get outside in Vienna and take in the rich offering of festivals.
The changing colors of autumn provide a scenic background for fall and harvest festivals, which have contests ranging from apple bobbing and pumpkin carving to lumberjack contests and Halloween parades. Fall is also the season for corn mazes, pumpkin patches and apple orchard visits.
Here are a few festivals and events in Vienna worth putting on the calendar:

1. Halloween on the Green: Saturday, Oct. 15, 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

This family-friendly event includes crafts, games, moon bounces, pumpkin decorating and more.
2. Vienna Volunteer Fire Department Open House: Saturday, Oct. 15, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Vienna Volunteer Fire Department, 400 Center Street S, Vienna, VA
The Vienna Volunteer Fire Department will join other Fairfax County fire stations in hosting an open house to the public on Oct. 15. This event will feature a close-up look at emergency vehicles, fire demonstrations, meeting firefighters, a moon bounce and more activities.
3. Morning Leaf Walk and Art Fun: Saturday, Oct. 15, 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Meadowlark Botanical Gardens, 9750 Meadowlark Gardens Court, Vienna, VA
This program for children includes a walk to collect fall leaves and to learn how leaves change color. They will then return to the visitor center, enjoy apple cider and use leaves to create art. The cost is $9 per child, and parents can join for regular garden admission ($3-$6).
4. Fall Fest at Reston Farm Garden Market: Saturdays and Sundays in October
Reston Farm Garden Market, 10800 Baron Cameron Avenue, Reston, VA
This fall festival includes fun like bounce houses, train rides around the market, a petting zoo, games, activities, pumpkins, music, food and more. Tickets are $20 for children and $5 for adults.

5. Hayrides at Krop's Crops: Weekends in October, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Walk-in hayrides to the pumpkin patch are offered on weekends. Guests can find apples, apple cider, fall squash and gourds, harvest and Halloween decorations, farm animals and a corn bin for children's play.
6. Trunk or Treat: Sunday, Oct. 23, 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Andrew Chapel United Methodist Church, 1301 Trap Rd, Vienna, VA
Bring the children to an afternoon or trunk or treat. The event will include the Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream Truck, giant bubbles, a photo booth and trunks to collect treats.
7. Vienna Halloween Parade: Wednesday, Oct. 26, 7 p.m.
Maple Avenue between Branch Road and Center Street, Vienna, VA
Vienna's annual Halloween Parade returns with a theme of "Time Machine: Vienna in the past, present and future." Applications were due Sept. 16 for floats to participate. Children and others do not need to register to march in the parade. The meeting location for marching in the parade will be 6 p.m. on Oct. 26 at United Bank, 374 Maple Avenue E. 8. Trunk or Treat: Sunday, Oct. 30, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Vienna Presbyterian Church, 124 Park Street NE, Vienna, VA
Vienna Presbyterian Church will host this event with decorated cars offering candy to children. There will also be music from a DJ, a moon bounce, games and crafts.
9. Trick or Treat: Monday, Oct. 31
Around Vienna, VA
Trick or treat doesn't have a set time in Fairfax County. So you can expect children to visit homes for candy during the evening hours of Halloween, which falls on Monday, Oct. 31.
