Town Council Affirms Contractor for Community Center Renovations
The Town also announced it will host a groundbreaking ceremony for the new community center sometime next month.

The Vienna Town Council made the upcoming expansion and renovation of the Vienna Community Center official at Monday’s meeting, awarding IFB 16-04 to contractors Keller Brothers, Inc.
Construction is expected to begin in mid-September, and The Lukemire Partnership has been hired as the lead architectural and engineering firm.
The current community center will close on Sept. 4, and its offices will move to a space at the Cedar Park Shopping Center beginning Tuesday, Sept. 8, the day after Labor Day. Offices will be open from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. on weekdays; the community center will be closed on weekends.

The Club Phoenix Teen Center will also operate out of the Cedar Park Shopping Center from 2:30-6:30 p.m. on Monday through Thursday and 2:30-10 p.m. on Fridays.
A number of other community center classes and programs will now be held at temporary locations throughout town, including Vienna Baptist Church, Vienna Presbyterian Church, Vienna Volunteer Fire Department, Patrick Henry Library, Town Hall and the Bowman House.

The Town also announced it will host a groundbreaking ceremony for the new community center to be held directly in front of the current building. However, a town spokesperson added that a date has not yet been set.
