Town of Vienna Police Collect 284 Pounds of Medications

On Sept. 26, the Town of Vienna Police Department in conjunction with the United States Drug Enforcement Administration, (D.E.A.), participated in the 10th National Drug Take Back Initiative.

The Vienna Police Department collected 284 pounds of unused or expired medications during the 10th annual drug take-back initiative.

As a result of that initiative the Town of Vienna Police Department collected and safely disposed of 284 pounds of expired or no longer needed medications from area citizens.

The September initiative collected approximately 27,292 pounds of medications statewide. The Vienna Police Department plans to continue its participation with the United States D.E.A. for future initiatives.
