2 Vienna Restaurants Named 2026 RAMMY Awards Finalists

VIENNA, VA — Vienna restaurants Joon, serving upscale casual Persian food, and Call Your Mother, a bagel and deli chain, have been named finalists for the 2026 RAMMY Awards, the superlatives bestowed every year by the Restaurant Association of Metropolitan Washington for the region's best dining experiences.

Joon is nominated for best upscale casual restaurant. The Persian kitchen, known for its sophisticated cuisine, has been recognized frequently in recent years. It was chosen by Washingtonian Magazine readers as their favorite restaurant in Virginia in 2025 and earned a spot on the New York Times’ top 50 restaurants list in 2024.

Chef-owner Chris Morgan already has a Michelin star to his name from his time at Maydan in Washington, DC. His partner on the culinary team, Najmieh Batmanglij, is frequently hailed as a leading light of Iranian cooking.

Joon is located at 8045 Leesburg Pike in Vienna.

Call Your Mother, a local deli and bagel shop chain, is nominated for best fast casual restaurant. Its first location opened in 2018 in Washington, DC’s Park View neighborhood, but it has locations in Vienna and elsewhere in Virginia.

Owners Daniela Moreira and Andrew Dana are unabashed carbohydrate evangelists, and their offerings are built on bagels they describe as “somewhere between a classic NY-style bagel and the sweeter, Montreal-style bagels from our friends up north.”

They also promote their work to fight hunger in local communities.

This nomination is also not Call Your Mother’s first recognition: their bagels were listed among the country’s best by Bon Appetit magazine in 2023.

Call Your Mother’s Vienna location is at 205 Maple Avenue E.

Winners of most categories are chosen by RAMW members, but the RAMMYs also include five categories that are decided by the public: Best Bar, Best Brunch, Hottest Sandwich Spot, and Favorite Gathering Place and, for the first time this year, Content Creator of the Year. Voting for these categories runs from April 20 to May 17 through the NBC 4 Washington website.

Winners of the 44th annual RAMMYS Awards will be announced on June 29 at the RAMW Gala at the Arena Stage at The Mead Center for American Theater.
