Vandal Smashes Window Of New Vienna Home

Smashed windows on a car and brand new home have been reported in Vienna over the last two weeks.

VIENNA, VA—Reports of thefts from unlocked vehicles haven't been uncommon lately, but vandals are finding other ways to break into Vienna property.

On Nov. 10, Vienna Police discovered a window smashed at a newly-constructed home in the 600 block of Kingsley Road SW. Police did not indicate that the home was occupied. Nothing else appeared to have been disturbed.

A few days before, Vienna Police received a report of a car with a smashed window in the 600 block of Tazewell Road NW. The report did not indicate if anything was taken. Police believe the incident happened overnight between Nov. 7 and 8.

The investigations continue.

Residents should also be on the lookout for package thefts as families shop for Christmas gifts. One resident reports an Amazon package stolen Nov. 13 between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. in the 800 Block of Meadow Lane SW.

A resident reported that someone might have entered her unsecured residence during the
weekend and stole some unspecified items.

November 12 1:00 p.m.

A citizen reported that he parked his vehicle and went to get lunch. When he returned to his
vehicle he found the driver side door unlocked and dented above the door handle.

Arrest - Shoplifting - 17-010139
Vienna Rexall Drug Center
150 Maple Avenue West
November 13 5:42 p.m.

An employee requested a Police Officer to assist with a shoplifting that had just occurred. A
suspect was located and detained. Ofc Post investigated the case and arrested a 50-year-old
woman from Crestwood Heights Drive in Mclean, VA on a felony charge (Larceny 3rd
or subsequent). She was transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center where a Felony
arrest warrant for Larceny 3rd or subsequent was issued and served.

Accident 17-009395
Roland Street SW / Wade Hampton Drive SW
October 18 8:20 a.m.

Vehicle-1 was driving Westbound on Roland Drive, after making a right turn from Wade
Hampton Drive SW, when he suffered an unknown medical emergency. His vehicle traveled off
the roadway and struck a tree owned by the Town of Vienna.
