Vienna's 2023 Holiday Decorating Contest Open For Nominations

VIENNA, VA — Hang up your festive lights and get out your holiday inflatables, because Vienna's holiday decorating contest is already underway.

The annual Shine Bright Vienna Holiday Decorating Contest is open to residents and businesses in the Town of Vienna. Nominations for decorated homes and businesses are now being accepted through Nov. 21. A photo must be provided by Nov. 21 to enter.

Displays nominated for the contest must be visible from the street. Nominees can earn bonus points by including an image of Vienna Elementary School in honor of the school's 150th anniversary. Registered displays spotlighting the school will get a special designation on the holiday decorating contest map. Submit your display here.

A map of nominated displays will be released to the public for voting on Nov. 27. In the past, the map has included homes outside the Town of Vienna, but those homes outside town limits are not eligible for contest prizes.

Voting will take place from Nov. 27 to 12 p.m. on Dec. 8. Winners will be announced on Dec. 8.

The winning business receives a volunteer hour from Mayor Linda Colbert as a guest employee. Winning residents receive a Town of Vienna holiday ornament and a gift card from a local business.

The annual holiday contest is held by the Town Business Liaison Committee and Vienna Parks and Recreation.
