Homeowners in a Vienna-area neighborhood are concerned that possible changes coming to I-66, by VDOT, will adversely impact their community — including losing up to 35 homes to make way for widening to ease traffic.
VDOT announced last week changes coming to I-66 to help commuters.

There are concerns that a proposed addition of a flyover ramp, storm water management pond, removal of a footbridge to the metro and removal of a playground will bring down property values for the community.
A meeting between concerned residents and representatives of VDOT is scheduled for Saturday, March 21 from 10 a.m. to noon at Kilmer Middle School, in the cafeteria in Vienna, 8100 Wolftrap Road.
“What we are even more disappointed in is VDOT and our local and state representatives did not tell us about this plan to disproportionally affect our neighborhood,” a concerned resident said.
It’s not clear whether any local government officials will be attending the meeting on Saturday.
