Vienna Area Restaurant Inspections: A Fly Problem

VIENNA, VA — Fairfax County regularly conducts health inspections for local restaurants. The frequency of inspections on the type of food served and how it is prepared.

“In our experience, it is unrealistic to expect that a complex, full-service food operation can routinely avoid any violations,” states the Virginia Department of Health’s website.

Here are some of the violations from Vienna, Oakton and Tysons inspections in November. Among the violations were drain flies found at Sbarro in Tysons Corner Center. The restaurant must provide proof of pest control service as a result.

violation: cheeses cold holding at improper temperatures (corrected)

Old Peking Restaurant: 2952C Chain Bridge Rd, Oakton, VA 22124, last inspection: Nov. 9

violations: unlabeled food ingredients, grease deposits on surfaces or stove, fryers and ovens, storage shelves under cooking equipment and interior of freezer in need of cleaning, back door screen open and could allow entry of pests

violations: silverware, pan not cleaned properly, employee handling raw beef without gloves (all corrected)
