Vienna Car Vandal Strikes In Broad Daylight: Police
An unknown vandal smashed three car windows and stole items outside Vienna Elementary School.

VIENNA, VA—A car vandal is on the loose in Vienna, and he or she is not afraid to damage cars in broad daylight.
Police received reports of three cars damaged at Vienna Elementary School (128 Center Street South). The unknown vandal smashed the car windows and stole purses and other visible items.
The crime happened September 25 sometime between 5:45 p.m. and 5:50 p.m. There is no information on a possible suspect. Police continue to investigate.

The newest report comes after a string of recent incidents, including another car at a Vienna Elementary School. In July, a victim told Patch she was at Cunningham Park Elementary School for 20 minutes when a vandal smashed the car window.

A resident reported that her juvenile daughter had a sexual relationship with an adult. Det. Elias is investigating the case.

Between July 29 12:01 a.m. and September 22 4:08 p.m.
A business owner reported that someone was able to write a fraudulent check against his bank account.
100 Block Oak Street SW
Between September 16 5:20 p.m. and September 23 6:30 p.m.
A citizen reported that he received some threatening phone calls and text messages.
Accident 17-008588
316 Windover Avenue NW
September 22 9:59 a.m.
Vehicle -1 was travelling Eastbound on the 300 Block of Windover Avenue NW when Driver-1 became distracted mentally by daydreaming. Vehicle-1 ran off the roadway and into a utility pole causing right front corner damage. The utility pole was not damaged.
Ware Street SW / Tapawingo Road SW
September 24 4:43 a.m.
A citizen reported that someone struck his parked vehicle sometime during the night. Ofc Williams investigated the case and was able to develop a suspect. The suspect was located and charged with hit and run.
Arrest - Driving While Intoxicated 17-008658

September 25 3:26 a.m.
While on patrol Ofc. Finelli observed a vehicle traveling with a flat tire on Maple Avenue. Ofc Finelli made contact with the driver to offer assistance. Ofc. Finelli became aware that the driver had a suspended license. While speaking with the driver Ofc Finelli detected signs of impairment. Ofc. Finelli placed the driver under arrest after he failed to successfully complete a series of field sobriety tests. In addition, a quantity of suspected marijuana was located.
Ofc. Finelli transported the 21-year-old man of Valestra Circle in Oakton, Virginia to the Vienna Police Station where he provided a sample of his breath. The driver was then transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center. Ofc. Finelli obtained and served three arrest warrants (Driving While Intoxicated, Possession of Marijuana and Driving with a Suspended License).

September 25 between 10:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
A resident reported that someone entered her home and stole several watches thru an unsecured sliding door.
