Vienna Church's Easter Service At Lincoln Memorial Returns
A Vienna Church hosts one of the largest sunrise gatherings on Easter. Here's what to know about attending.

WASHINGTON, DC—More than 40 years ago, Capital Church of Vienna's Easter Sunrise Service began as a small gathering at the Lincoln Memorial. Today it's grown to one of the largest Easter sunrise services in the country, drawing locals and visitors alike.
This year's service is set for Sunday, April 21, 2019 at 6:30 a.m. at the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, DC. The event is coordinated by founding pastors Amos and Sue Dodge, lead pastors Travis and Tara Goodman, the church's worship and technical arts ministry and 100 volunteers.
The view of the sunrise at the Lincoln Memorial, the people it draws from around the world, the music and the message set the Easter service apart. The service is featured in Washingtonian's The Great Washington Bucket List and normally draws around 10,000 people.
