Vienna Community Center Reopening Set for 2017

VIENNA, VA -- The Town of Vienna recently reported on the progress being made on the renovation and construction going on with the Community Center.

The December Town Council meeting included the following updates about the rec center:

• 90 percent completion of interior demolition
• installation of fire hydrant and sanitary sewer on Park Street
• grading of and base for moved section of W&OD trail – to be followed by bollards and asphalt surface
• mechanical units removed from the roof
• installation of vents and waste and supply pipes in restrooms
• installation of duct work throughout the building

Coming up next in the renovation is installation of stormwater drains on south side of the building, removal of asphalt on north side of building in order to grade for future parking, removal of the old trail section and remaining trees and dismantling of light poles on south side of the building.

The renovation is expected to be substantially completed by Spring 2017.
