Vienna Community Center Slated For September Re-Opening
After nearly two years and $13 million in renovations, the Vienna Community Center is set to reopen in September.
VIENNA, VA—After about two years of renovations, the Vienna Community Center is set to reopen in September, according to a town news release.
The renovated facility will be 15,000 square feet larger and is anticipated to become LEED certified.

- A new gym with a basketball court
- A lobby and waiting area with a service counter
- New backboards, rims, flooring, lighting and other equipment in the old gym
- New chairs, carpeting, paneling, control room, sound, and lights in the 200-seat auditorium
- A new, zoned heating and air system
- New and renovated bathrooms
- Improved lighting and information technology capabilities
Construction on the 50-year-old facility began in September 2015. The approximately $13 million project was funded with town reserve money. The project was originally estimated to cost $10.4 million.

Classes and community programs could resume as early as the week of Sept. 18. The community is invited to a re-opening celebration on Saturday, September 23 from 1-5 p.m.
“We’re excited to move into our new larger, brighter, and more open facility and to share it, as well as enhanced opportunities for recreation, with our citizens,” Vienna Parks and Recreation Director Leslie Herman said in a statement.
