Vienna Crime: Counterfeit Cash, Trespassing at Dentist Office, Underage Drinking
The most recent crime report from the Town of Vienna Police Department.

The following summary contains various incidents of general interest as well as vehicular crashes handled by the Town of Vienna, Virginia Police Department from December 12, 2014 – December 18, 2014. Readers are reminded that an “arrest” is based upon probable cause and does not always mean that someone was physically taken into custody. Furthermore, it does not mean that an individual is automatically guilty of a crime. Judicial outcomes and post-arrest proceedings can be researched through the appropriate court’s website.

INCIDENTS
Fraud 14-013786 100 Block Park Street, SE Between December 10 at 9:00 a.m. and December 17 at 3:51 p.m. A resident reported he had been informed by his bank that someone may have been updating his account information without his knowledge. After reviewing his account he confirmed changes had been made without his knowledge.

This case is being investigated.
Counterfeiting 14-013596 Walgreens 225 Maple Avenue, East December 10 12:40 p.m. An employee reported that a female had purchased gift cards worth several hundred dollars using counterfeit $50 bills. The employee stated the same woman may have committed the same crime at another Walgreens in the area.
This case is being investigated.
Petit Larceny 14-013690 300 Block Lawyers Road, NW Between December 10 at 8:08 p.m. and December 14 at 8:08 p.m. A resident reported that someone entered his vehicle and had taken an undisclosed amount of money from the center console.
The resident was unsure if the vehicle had been locked or unlocked.
Note to Citizens: Please remove all valuables from an unattended vehicle and most importantly, lock the vehicle doors
Petit Larceny 14-013604 Flagship Carwash 540 Maple Avenue, West December 12 11:52 a.m. A customer reported that after having his car washed he discovered that an undisclosed amount of money had been taken from the center console.
This case is being investigated.
Trespassing 14-013605 Vienna Periodontics 301 Maple Avenue, West December 12 12:33 p.m. An employee reported that a former patient had returned to the business and was refusing the employee’s request to leave.
Officer Holcombe responded and informed the woman that if she continued to refuse to leave she would be arrested for Trespassing. She was also informed to cease any further telephone calls to the business.
The woman left and agreed to not return.
Police Service 14-013519 Serene Soul Spa 320 Maple Avenue, East December 12 8:33 p.m. PFC Lyons responded to assist the Fairfax County Fire Marshall with an individual who appeared to be living in the business which had been cited for Fire Code Violations.
The woman was transported to an area hotel where she was provided with more suitable accommodations.
Alcohol Violation 14-013628 Pleasant Street at Maple Avenue, SW December 12 11:09 p.m. Officer Tracy was on patrol when he observed the driver of a vehicle commit a series of traffic violations. As a result of those violations he conducted a traffic stop. Upon his interaction with the driver and his passenger he determined the passenger was intoxicated and under the legal age to consume alcohol.
Officer Tracy transported the juvenile to the Vienna Police Station where he contacted his mother who responded to the police station to take her son home.
This case is being investigated.
Grand Larceny 14-013647 1000 Block Hillcrest Drive, SW December 13 between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. A resident reported that someone had entered his sister’s unsecured vehicle and stole his iPad.
This case is being investigated.
Open Door 14-013649 300 Block Windover Avenue, NW December 13 5:45 p.m. An alarm company reported that a residential alarm had been activated. PFC Lyons responded and located a door that had been left unsecure.
PFC Lyons along with Officer Holcombe searched the residence and determined that nothing appeared to be out of place.
A neighbor responded and secured the door.
Vehicle Tampering 14-013676 1100 Block Kings Way Court, SW December 14 between 12:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. A resident reported that someone had entered his unlocked vehicle and although nothing had been taken it was apparent the person had rummaged through every compartment and strewn their contents about the vehicle.
Note to Citizens: Please remove all valuables from an unattended vehicle and most importantly, lock the vehicle doors.
Arrests – Alcohol Violation 14-013688 Wolf Trap Hotel 430 Maple Avenue, West December 14 1:29 a.m.
An employee reported receiving complaints of a strong odor of marijuana emanating from one of the rooms.
MPO Shaver responded and found the door to the room in question open and a billow of smoke coming from inside. MPO Shaver made contact with the occupants of the room and determined that although no marijuana could be found all the occupants had been illegally consuming alcohol.
MPO Shaver issued summonses for Underage Possession of Alcohol to Mr. Tim Troulo, 18, of Pimmit Drive in Falls Church, Virginia, Ms. Nataly C. Martins, 18, of Valer Court in Vienna, Ms. Andrea Martinez, 18, of Pimmit Drive in Falls Church, Virginia, Mr. Ulises Morales- Montenegro, 18, of Edgar Court in Falls Church, Virginia and Mr. Joshua Isaac Higgins, 19, of Centcellion Drive in Mclean, Virginia.
All the individuals were released after signing their respective summonses.
One of the occupants was determined to be a juvenile. His father was contacted and responded to the hotel and took his son home.
This case is being investigated.
Grand Larceny 14-013679 1000 Block Pruitt Court, SW December 14 between 2:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. Officer Reedy responded to the area to return a wallet that had been found. The owner of the wallet stated someone had entered her unlocked vehicle and had taken her purse and all its contents.
This case is being investigated.
Domestic Dispute 14-013698 Kelley Street, SW December 14 11:42 p.m. A resident reported that she and her husband had been involved in a heated argument.
MPO Shaver responded and determined that no physical violence had occurred.
Suspicious Person 14-013712 7-11 537 Maple Avenue, West December 15 3:23 p.m. Officer Digan responded to the area for the report of a suspicious female who was reported as having a black eye and was not making sense.
The woman was located inside the office at the Wolf Trap Hotel. She informed Officer Digan that she had been taking medication and consumed a lot of alcohol. Due to her unsteadiness and lethargic behavior Fairfax County Rescue personnel were summoned and transported her to an area hospital for treatment.
Trespassing 14-013725 McDonald’s 544 Maple Avenue, West December 16 8:50 a.m. Officer Digan responded to the area for the report of an individual who appeared to be asleep on a bench. While speaking with the individual an employee informed him that the individual had repeatedly entered the business and would stay for hours, causing complaints from customers.
The employee requested the individual be informed to leave and not return to the property. He agreed to comply with those wishes and left without further incident.
Suspicious Event 14-013743 200 Block Park Terrace Court, SE December 16 9:00 a.m. A resident reported her concern when a neighbor poked his head in the door to her apartment. She felt he may have been attempting to enter the apartment and stopped after encountering her.
Officer Slebonick responded and spoke with the neighbor who informed him he entered the apartment after hearing a knock at his door. However when he got to the door no one was there that’s when he noticed his neighbor’s door was open and thought she may have been the one at his door.
He stated he left the apartment when the resident stated she had not knocked on his door. The resident agreed it may have been a mistake.
Medical Case 14-013734 Wolf Trap Hotel 430 Maple Avenue, West December 16 11:17 a.m. Officer Herrera responded to the Wolf Trap Hotel to assist Fairfax County Rescue personnel with a female guest who appeared extremely intoxicated and was unable to communicate with them.
Fairfax County Rescue personnel were ultimately able to transport her to an area hospital for treatment.
Suspicious Event 14-013740 200 Block Glyndon Street, SE December 16 4:50 p.m. Officer Herrera responded to the area after receiving a report of a possible assault that had occurred stemming from a road rage incident. After separating the drivers involved and speaking with both individuals it was confirmed that a road rage incident had occurred and one of the drivers had pushed the other driver.
Neither driver wished to pursue charges.
Medical Case 14-013750 600 Block Roberts Drive, NW December 17 2:55 a.m. A resident reported that his roommate was in need of medical attention. MPO Shaw responded and after speaking with the roommate was able to convince him to be transported to an area hospital. After being evaluated by medical personnel he was transported back to his residence.
Suspicious Event 14-013795 Cottage Street, SW December 17 7:52 a.m. MPO Shaver responded to the area after a Vienna Police Dispatcher received a telephone call from a female who was upset and requested the police respond to her location.
After arriving at the scene MPO Shaver located the female who informed him she became upset after several attempts to contact her boyfriend went unanswered until she arrived at his home where he was located.
CRASHES
Maple Avenue near Westbriar Drive, NE 14-013614 December 12 5:16 p.m. The drivers of two vehicles were traveling west bound on Maple Avenue and stopped due to traffic.
The driver of the second vehicle moved forward slowly and tapped the rear bumper of the first vehicle twice.
Both drivers agreed that no damage had occurred to either vehicle.
Maple Avenue near Lawyers Road, NW 14-013616 December 12 6:05 p.m. The driver of the first vehicle was traveling east bound on Maple Avenue, West.
The driver of the second vehicle attempted to exit a parking lot and collided with the first vehicle.
The driver of the second vehicle was issued a summons for Failure to Pay Full Time and Attention.
Maple Avenue near Follin Lane, SE 14-013643 December 13 1:41 p.m. The drivers of two vehicles were traveling east bound on Maple Avenue in adjacent lanes. The driver of the vehicle in the rightmost lane attempted to change lanes to go around a stopped Metro Bus and collided with the second vehicle which was occupying the leftmost lane.
The driver of the striking vehicle was issued a summons for Failure to Pay Full Time and Attention.
Church Street near Council Drive, NE 14-013648 December 13 4:54 p.m. The drivers of two vehicles were traveling west bound on Church Street approaching Council Drive, NE.
The driver of the first vehicle in line was attempting to make a right turn onto Council Drive when the driver of the second vehicle attempted to pass and collided with the vehicle.
The driver of the second vehicle was issued a summons for Failure to Pay Full Time and Attention.
Follin Lane at Echols Street, SE 14-013713 December 15 5:45 p.m. The drivers of two vehicles were traveling north bound on Follin Lane and stopped for the red traffic signal at Echols Street, SE.
The driver of the second vehicle stated he thought the first vehicle had started through the intersection and accelerated, rear ending the first vehicle.
The driver of the second vehicle was issued a summons for Failure to Pay Full Time and Attention.
Maple Avenue at East Street, NE 14-013718 December 15 9:00 p.m. The driver of the first vehicle was traveling west bound on Maple Avenue and was preparing to make a left turn onto East Street, NE.
The driver of the second vehicle was traveling south bound on East Street and while attempting to make a left turn onto Maple Avenue, NE cut the turn too short and collided with the first vehicle.
The driver of the second vehicle was issued a summons for Improper Turn.
300 Block Maple Avenue, West 14-013733 December 16 10:59 a.m. The driver of the first vehicle was traveling east bound on Maple Avenue in the center turn lane.
The driver of the second vehicle was traveling west bound on Maple Avenue and entered the center turn lane, colliding with the first vehicle.
The driver of the second vehicle was issued a summons for Failure to Pay Full Time and Attention.
Park Street at Church Street, NE 14-013741 December 16 5:55 p.m. The driver of the first vehicle was traveling east bound on Church Street and after stopping at the stop sign at Park Street, NE he proceeded to make a left turn onto Park Street, NE.
The driver of the second vehicle was traveling north bound on Park Street and after stopping at the stop sign with Church Street, NE. The driver then continued through the intersection prior to the driver of the first vehicle clearing the intersection and collided with that vehicle.
The driver of the second vehicle was issued a summons for Failure to Pay Full Time and Attention.
Lawyers Road at Ayr Hill Avenue, NW 14-013769 December 17 9:15 a.m. The driver of a vehicle was traveling south bound on Lawyers Road and attempted to make a left turn onto Ayr Hill Avenue when he struck a pedestrian running across Ayr Hill Avenue.
The pedestrian was transported to an area hospital for minor injuries. The driver was issued a summons for Fail to Pay Full Time and Attention.
