Vienna Drivers Find Car Windows Smashed After Fitness Class

A vandal damaged five cars and stole items during a fitness class, according to Vienna Police.

VIENNA, VA—Vienna Police say a car vandal struck in a parking lot during a fitness class on Monday, Dec. 17.

Five cars had their windows smashed in the parking lot of Orangetheory Fitness, 127 Maple Avenue West. Passenger seat windows were broken in all of the cases. Four of the cars had items stolen from inside. The stolen items included cash, jewelry, credit cards and a diaper bag.

The incidents were reported to police around 5:45 a.m. No leads on suspects are available.

Between December 10 at 7:30 p.m. and December 13 at 9:30 a.m.
A citizen advised that an unknown person broke out the passenger side window of his vehicle and took his toolbox and leaf blower. The person also attempted to gain entry into the citizen’s trailer that was parked next to his truck.

An employee advised that two men came into the store and requested to purchase E-cigarettes. When the employee placed the pack of E-cigarettes on the counter, one of the men grabbed the pack, and both men ran out of the store without paying.

December 15 between 2:19 a.m. and 2:23 a.m.
An employee reported damage to a vehicle parked in the rear parking lot and damage to the rear door of the business where unknown individuals attempted to gain entry to the business

Arrest – Hit & Run 18-10126
800 Block Maple Avenue, East
December 9 6:25 p.m.
Vehicle-2 and Vehicle-3 were stopped in traffic in the left westbound lane of Maple Avenue. Vehicle-1 rear-ended Vehicle-2 at a high rate of speed, pushing Vehicle-2 into Vehicle-3. Driver-1 then fled the scene westbound on Maple Avenue.
MPO Shaw obtained a warrant for Driver-1 charging Felony Hit & Run. On December 13 the 27-year-old female from Broad Street in Mclean, Virginia was arrested. She was transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center where the warrant was served, and she was held on a $1000 secured bond.

Crash – 200 Block Maple Avenue, West 18-010246
December 14 7:10 a.m.
Vehicle-1 was attempting to make a left turn from the parking lot of 218 Maple Avenue, West to go westbound on Maple Avenue. Both lanes of eastbound traffic had stopped to allow Driver-1 to turn. Vehicle-2 was traveling eastbound in the center turn lane and struck Vehicle-1 as it entered the roadway.
Both drivers were transported by rescue personnel to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Crash – Beulah Road and Church Street, NE 18-01280
December 15 8:30 p.m.
Vehicle-2 was traveling westbound on Church Street. Vehicle-1 was traveling southbound on Beulah Road.
As Vehicle-2 was entering the intersection with Beulah Road, Vehicle-1 disregarded the red traffic light and struck Vehicle-2. All three occupants of Vehicle-2 were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Driver-1 was issued a summons charging Failure to Obey a Traffic Signal.
