Vienna Drunk Driver Misses Deer, Hits Car
A drunk driver in Vienna managed to miss a deer but hit a parked car, police say. Plus more in the Vienna weekly crime report.

VIENNA, VA—A drunk driver was swerving from a deer when he hit a parked car in Vienna, police say. The car was parked at a home on Tapawingo Road SW, and the accident occurred around 2:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 24.
The driver admitted to drinking, and he failed all sobriety tests. He was arrested for driving while intoxicated.

Arrest - Hit and Run/Driving While Intoxicated 17-005692

June 23 11:43 p.m.
A citizen reported a Hit and Run that had just taken place. The Officers were able to locate the
striking vehicle and the driver. During the investigation Officer Reedy was able to determine that
the driver had consumed alcohol and her ability to drive a motor vehicle had been impaired
during the accident.
The driver was arrested and transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center. Officer
Reedy was able to obtain and served three arrest warrants (Driving While Intoxicated 3rd in 10
years, Hit and Run and Driving While Intoxicated Refusal).
Tapawingo Road, SW
June 24 2:32 a.m.
Officer Shaw responded to the scene of an accident that had just occurred. During the
investigation Officer Shaw was able to determine that the driver’s ability to drive a motor vehicle
had been impaired by alcohol and contributed to the accident with the parked vehicle.
The driver was arrested and transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center. Officer
Shaw obtained and served a warrant for Driving While Intoxicated.

June 26 9:13 p.m.
A heated argument between three adults took place. During the argument a male subject assaulted a female subject and broke her cellular phone. The male subject left the scene prior to police arrival.
Maple Avenue West/Nutley Street, NW
June 27 11:15 p.m.
Officers were dispatched for a report of an intoxicated female at The Wolftrap Hotel. Upon
arrival officers were advised that the female left on foot. The female was located at Nutley Street
NW/Maple Avenue NW. During the interaction with Officer Sterling it was determined that she
was a danger to her own safety due to her extreme level of intoxication. The adult female was
arrested and transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center. An arrest warrant for
Drunk in Public was issued and served.
Center Street South/Elm Street South
June 27 11:55 p.m.
While on routine patrol Officer Bulti observed a vehicle that was committing traffic violations.
The officer initiated a traffic stop and investigated. During his investigation Officer Bulti was
able to determine that the adult female had consumed alcohol and her ability to drive a motor
vehicle was impaired.
The adult female was arrested and transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.
Officer Bulti obtained and served arrest warrants for Driving While Intoxicated and Driving
While Intoxicated Refusal.
June 27 2:14 p.m.
Vehicle-1 was traveling Westbound on Marshall Road SW approaching Nutley Street SW which
had a red traffic signal. Driver-1 lost control of the vehicle and ran off the roadway to the right
crashing through the front yard fence of a house on the 700 Block of Marshall Road SW, making
a circle in the front yard before coming to a stop.
