HERNDON, VA—A team of Vienna firefighters came to the rescue of a baby duck on Saturday, June 29.

Fairfax County Police's animal protection police called for firefighters to help rescue a duckling from a storm drain in the Frying Pan area of Herndon. The Vienna Volunteer Firefighter Fire Department was filling in while the fire station covering that area was conducting a training drill, the volunteer fire department told Patch in a message.

Thanks to the rescuers, the lucky duck is safe. Photos posted to Facebook show the duck in a net used to retrieve it from the drain.
