Vienna Halloween Parade 2022 Registration Deadline Approaches

VIENNA, VA — If you want to enter a float in the Vienna Halloween Parade, the deadline to register is approaching. The 76th annual parade is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 26 at 7 p.m. along Maple Avenue.

Organizations, business and representatives who wish to have a float, car or other entertainment in the parade should submit their application by Sept. 16. Applicants will be notified of their entry status by Oct. 7.

Applications do not guarantee participation in the parade. According to the Town of Vienna, participants are accepted based on entertainment, variety and adherence to the theme and guidelines.

Children and others in costumes do not need to register to march in the parade. Costumed walkers can show up at 6 p.m. on Oct. 26 at the United Bank, 374 Maple Avenue E. to participate.

The theme of the 2022 parade is "Time Machine: Vienna." Parade entrants are eligible for awards decided by judges — Youth Band, Float with Music, Float without Music, Youth Performers, Adult Performers, and Antique Vehicles. Winners will be announced at the Nov. 14 Vienna Town Council meeting.

The parade, a tradition in Vienna since 1946, runs along Maple Avenue from Branch Road to Center Street. The parade is approximately a half-mile long and lasts around an hour to an hour and a half. See more information about the parade on the town's website.
