Vienna Police Charge Man With Sexual Assault
The arrest follows an investigation by detectives into a report of a sexual assault in September.

VIENNA, VA — A man was arrested and charged on Thursday for an alleged sexual assault, according to Vienna Police.
Vienna Police and members of the United States Marshals Service arrested Saul Alberto Garay-Amaya in Mt. Rainier, Maryland Thursday morning. The arrest followed a long investigation by detectives who learned that he allegedly sexually assaulted a female victim in September.
According to Vienna Police spokesperson Juan Vazquez, the investigation is active. Details of the crime were not released to protect the victim's identity.

Garay-Amaya was charged with several felonies, including sexual assault and abduction.

A resident reported that someone entered her unlocked vehicle and rummaged through it.

Between October 14 at 6:00 p.m. and October 15 at 6:00 p.m.
A resident reported that a political sign was stolen from her yard.
600 Block Spring Street, SE
Between October 14 at 7:00 p.m. and October 22 at 9:00 a.m.
A resident reported that someone entered her open garage and stole a bicycle.

216 Maple Avenue, West
October 15 1:34 p.m.
An employee reported that a man came into the store, stole three cell phones, then ran from the
store westbound on Maple Avenue.
Giant Food
359 Maple Avenue, East
October 17 2:03 p.m.
An employee reported that two men left the store with two shopping carts of beer without paying.
The men fled the area eastbound on Maple Avenue in a pickup truck. The tag on the truck returned
to another vehicle that had been reported as stolen.

120 Cherry Street, SE
October 21 8:25 a.m.
An employee from the Parks and Recreation Department reported that a ballfield groomer was
stolen from the ball fields.
