Vienna Ranked Best Place To Live In Virginia

VIENNA, VA—If you're a Vienna resident, you have the bragging rights of saying you live in the best place in Virginia.

That's according to HomeSnacks, a website that analyzes the quality of life in places around the U.S. Vienna claimed the top spot for the second year in a row in the Best Places to Live in Virginia ranking.

HomeSnacks analyzed 62 localities that have populations over 5,000 around the Commonwealth. The analysis gave localities scores out of 10 possible points for these factors: median home values, median income, population density, unemployment rate, commute time, crime, education levels, health insurance coverage and poverty rates. These were combined to give an overall score out of 10.

Vienna's low unemployment rate (2.9 percent) and average housing value ($662,200) helped contribute to a perfect 10 score. The only less-than-excellent individual rankings were for affordability (7) and commute (5) (no surprise).

"If you want to live in Virginia, you can’t go wrong if you decide to make the Vienna area your home. However, everyone and their mother wants to live here, states the website. "Can you blame them? It’s a beautiful place with really low crime, where a majority of residents are wealthy (a $143,276 median income will do that). Plus, the residents are really involved with helping to make Vienna as great as possible."
