Vienna Restaurant Inspections: Mildew On Refrigerator Walls

VIENNA, VA — Fairfax County regularly conducts health inspections for local restaurants. The frequency of inspections on the type of food served and how it is prepared.

“In our experience, it is unrealistic to expect that a complex, full-service food operation can routinely avoid any violations,” states the Virginia Department of Health’s website.

Here are some of the violations from Vienna inspections in late September. Among the violations was mildew on the walk-in refrigerator walls at Skorpios Charcoal Grill.

Also included are restaurants with no violations. Reports are typically posted five to seven days after the inspections. Full reports are available on the health department’s website. Click on the violations to see each restaurant's results.

Dickey's Barbecue Pit: 2750-J Gallows Road, Vienna, VA 22180, last inspection: Sept. 21

violations: employee not washing hands in between switching to clean gloves, beans hot holding at improper temperature, cheddar cheese, sour cream cold holding at improper temperatures (all corrected)

Lombardi's Pizza: 111 Maple Avenue W., Vienna, VA 22180, last inspection: Sept. 22

violations: foods cold holding at improper temperatures (corrected), prep cooler at salad station not operating properly

Maru Korean Cuisine & Sushi: 128 Maple Ave W, VIENNA, VA 22180, last inspection: Sept. 25

violations: uncovered food in refrigerator at sushi bar (corrected), refrigerator at sushi bar not operating properly, floor under sinks in need of cleaning

Skorpios Charcoal Grill: 421 Maple Ave E, Vienna, VA 22182, last inspection: Sept. 25

violation: mildew on the walls in walk-in cooler, debris under shelves
