Bruce Briglia, Danny Delgado, Robbie Harris, Kalib Ashcraft and Nick Brunori collected two hits each to lead the offense of the Vienna Senior League All Stars (16-19), in a 8-2 victory today over the Arlington All Stars, at Waters Field.
At the mound, Patrick Abrahamsen (winning pitcher), Phillip Davine and Bradley Cazenas limited Arlington to one hit.
The 13th District Babe Ruth Senior League tournament started with a win by Greater Fairfax (11-5) over Northern Fairfax Central (NFC).

In the second game, Vienna got the lead in the first inning with a triple by Bruce Briglia, a base on ball to Delgado, a ground out rbi by Nate Grisius, an rbi double by Robbie Harris, a hit by pitch to Ashcraft and a 2rbi single by Brunori.
Vienna scored its 5th run in the second with a hit from Delgado, a hit from Harris and an rbi ground out from Ashcraft.

Arlington took advantage of a couple of miscues from Vienna and two base on balls to score 2 in the top of the third.
But Vienna responded with 2 more runs in the bottom of the third with a double from Brunori, a base on balls to Abrahamsen, a fielder’s choice from Sammy Criscitello, an rbi hit from Bruce Briglia and a sacrifice fly from Delgado.
By this time, Davine had already taken control of the game with 3 scoreless innings and 6 strikeouts.
Vienna scored their last run in the 5th with a hit from Davine, and a sacrifice fly from Bruce Briglia.
Abrahamsen pitched 3 innings, allowing two unearned runs, one hit and striking out 2. Davine pitched 3, with 6 K’s. The only batter that reached base against Davine did so on a base on balls.
Cazenas pitched a clean last inning, striking out 2.
Offensively Davine was 1 for 1, with a run scored; Delgado 2 for 2, with 2 runs, 1 rbi, a sacrifice fly and a BB; Briglia was 2 for 3, with a 3B, one run scored, 2 rbis, and a sacrifice fly; Harris was 2 for 3, with a run scored, an rbi and a stolen base; Ashcraft 2 for 3, with a double, a run scored and a hit by pitch; and Brunori 2 for 3, with a double, 2 rbis and a stolen base.
The 13th District Tournament continues tomorrow, Monday, at Waters Field, with a 5:00 pm game between Greater Fairfax and McLean-Great Falls, and an 8:00 pm game, when Springfield vs Vienna.
