Vienna Taco Bamba Competes To Sell Most Tacos For Charity

Eat tacos for a good cause? Don't mind if we do.

VIENNA, VA—Maybe you don't need a reason to head over to Taco Bamba and chow down on their delicious tacos. But a Taco Bamba competition for charity certainly is a good reason.

On Thursday, Oct. 4, Taco Bamba will hold its first annual BAMBATHON, a charity drive to fight childhood hunger. Taco Bamba's four locations will compete to sell the most tacos that day.

So if you have pride in your local Vienna location, help it triumph over the DC Chinatown, Falls Church and Springfield locations. Either way, each location that serves 1,200 tacos that day will donate $1,000 to No Kid Hungry by Share Our Strength.

In addition, the local chain is donating proceeds of The Nature Boy taco to feed residents affected by Hurricane Florence through Sept. 29. The donations go through Chef José Andrés's World Central Kitchen to residents. Four days after the hurricane moved into the Carolinas, the charity has given 80,000 meals to evacuees and local emergency response teams.
