Vienna Town Council 2023 Candidate Forums Set For September, October
With all Town Council seats up for election in November, voters can hear from candidates at upcoming forums.

VIENNA, VA — As the November general election nears, all six Vienna Town Council seats and the mayor will be up for election. Voters can hear from Town Council candidates at two upcoming forums.
The first will be a Vienna Town Council Candidates Forum held by the Vienna chapter of the Virginia Federation of National Active and Retired Federal Employees. It will be held from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 19 in the Vienna Community Center auditorium. Town Council candidates will have 5 to 6 minutes of speaking time to make introductions and share goals for the town. Questions and answers will follow if time allows.
The second candidate forum will be held by the North East Vienna Citizens Association at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 13 at the Vienna Community Center. Town Council candidates will make brief opening remarks before a question-and-answer session. Attendees can submit their questions ahead of time to info@nevca.org.

Vienna's town elections were moved from May to November due to a change in Virginia election law. All six Vienna Town Council seats and mayor will be up for election at the same time, rather than a two-year staggered term cycle.
Candidates for Vienna's seven Town Council seats include incumbents Charles "Chuck" Anderson, Howard J. Springsteen, Ray S. Brill Jr. and newcomers Elizabeth D. Korondy, Jessica H. Ramakis, Roy J. Baldwin, Sandra D. Allen and Shelley M. Mountjoy.

Mayor Linda J. Colbert is unopposed in the mayoral race.
Town of Vienna residents will have Vienna mayor and Town Council on the ballot in addition to other Fairfax County races. The Town of Vienna ballot will also include Hunter Mill District Board of Supervisors and School Board, countywide races for Board of Supervisors chairman, three at-large School Board representatives, Fairfax County Commonwealth's Attorney, Fairfax County Sheriff, and Northern Virginia Soil and Water Conservation District.
Early voting will begin on Friday, Sept. 22. Voters can check the Virginia Department of Elections citizen portal to check voter registration status and the Fairfax County Office of Elections for information on how to vote and sample ballots.
