WASHINGTON, DC — A woman from Vienna has been identified as the victim in one of two deaths on the DC waterfront.
Jazz Haaren, 19, died after falling from the Alexandria Aqueduct near Key Bridge in Georgetown on late Wednesday, July 24, the Washington Post reported. DC Fire and EMS said she fell into a vessel moored close to the shore. A fireboat located her, and she was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. She was pronounced dead at the hospital. The medical examiner said the death was accidental.
Another water-related happened earlier that night at DC's Wharf. The Post reported that a woman fell into the Washington Channel from a pier and did not emerge. Divers located her about a half hour later. Taylor Reeves, 50, of Columbia, Maryland was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead.
