Vienna's American Legion Post to Host Sept. 11 Ceremony

The ceremony will take place at 9 a.m. on the Freeman House Lawn, and will include remarks from a former American Legion National Commander.

Vienna’s American Legion Post 180 announced this week it will host a community commemoration ceremony on Sept. 11 to honor America’s heroes from the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks in New York City and Washington, D.C. in 2001.

The ceremony will take place on the Freeman House lawn beginning at 9 a.m. This year, Sept. 11 falls on a Friday.

The ceremony will include remarks from guest speaker Dan Dellinger, the immediate past National Commander of the American Legion. The event is free and open to the public.

The American Legion is a national organization that focuses on providing services and support to current servicemen and women, as well as to veterans of the armed forces and their respective communities. Vienna’s American Legion post is one of more than 14,000 posts nationwide.
