Vienna's Oktoberfest: Guide To Beer, Parking And More

VIENNA, VA—You don't have to be in Germany to enjoy a good Oktoberfest. In fact, Vienna goes all out for the huge fall event. This year's event is set for Saturday, Oct. 6 from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. along historic Church Street.

Vienna Oktoberfest celebrates all things German: beer, food and cars. Caboose Brewing Company will offer four beers, including Vienna Lager and an IPA and hard ciders, from 10 taps. Attendees can also purchase Budweiser and wine. Photo ID is required for alcohol purchase.

Other highlights are 100 vendors, live entertainment on three stages, food, children’s activities and display of over 30 German classic cars.

Sexton’s German Band will kick off the event at the main stage and beer garden at Ayr Hill Road and Mill Street. The Great Zucchini and Rocknoceros will perform on the Town Green children’s stage. Ocho de Bastos is a returning performer, while country band NOMaD will make their Oktoberfest debut.

Children’s activities include Legos, face painting, inflatables, bounce houses, and games. About 20 food trucks and vendors, 30 handcrafters and and over 40 merchants will be there.

New to Oktoberfest is a free shuttle service from James Madison High School and the Vienna Metro North Kiss and Ride area to the festival drop-off location at Ayr Hill Road and Dominion Road. The shuttle will operate during festival hours from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Parking is available at the high school and Vienna Metro north lots. Handicapped parking is available in designated spaces near the beer garden 204 Mill Street NE. There is also an Uber and Lyft pickup and drop off point.
