Virginia Sales Tax Holiday Runs August 7-9

Enjoy three days of tax-free back-to-school shopping with tons of school supplies and clothes available.

It’s not most people’s favorite shopping spree of the year, but the commonwealth of Virginia is making back-to-school shopping a little less dreadful with the return of Virginia’s Back to School Sales Tax Holiday.

This year’s Sales Tax Holiday will take place from Aug. 7-9 statewide. It traditionally begins on the first Friday of every August.

School supplies and back-to-school clothing are among the main items included in the sales tax exemption. However, each school supply must cost under $20, and each item of clothing must cost less than $100.
