Wawa Announces Tesla Giveaway At Vienna Kickoff Event

VIENNA, VA —Virginia residents have a chance to win a three-year Tesla lease as part of a sweepstakes announced by Wawa on Tuesday. The contest was announced at Wawa's new Vienna location as part of National Drive Electric week.

From 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 29 through 10 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 26, residents can enter the giveaway online for a three-year lease of a Tesla Model 3. There is limit of one entry per person, and entrants must prove Virginia residency and be available to complete lease paperwork and participate in live prize presentation during the week of Oct. 26.

The sweepstakes kickoff was held in Vienna to mark the 500,000th electric vehicle customer across all Wawa locations. The Vienna location opened in July, offering Tesla electric chargers in place of Wawa's traditional gas station. The event featured the Tesla Model 3 vehicle with a giant red bow and a ceremonial "plugging in" to celebrate that half million mark in EV customers.

Wawa began introducing electric charging stations in 2017. In Virginia, there are also Tesla superchargers at the Wawa locations at 10060 Jefferson Davis Highway in Fredericksburg and 11701 Jefferson Davis Highway in Chester. The location at 5231 Brook Road in Richmond has EVgo CCS and CHAdeMO chargers.

"We selected our Vienna, VA store as a backdrop to announce this sweepstakes as it’s the first store in company history to open with EV chargers only, no fuel pumps, which demonstrates our commitment to innovation, sustainability and our continued desire to meet the needs of our customers."
