When Did This Food Expire? Vienna Restaurant Inspections

VIENNA, VA — Fairfax County regularly conducts health inspections for Town of Vienna and other county restaurants. The frequency of inspections on the type of food served and how it is prepared.

“In our experience, it is unrealistic to expect that a complex, full-service food operation can routinely avoid any violations,” states the Virginia Department of Health’s website.

Here are some of the violations from Vienna inspections in September. Among the violations were seven at Sakura Japanese Seafood & Steakhouse. Many of the violations were corrected during the inspection.

Also included are restaurants with no violations. Reports are typically posted five to seven days after the inspections. Full reports are available on the health department’s website. Click on the violations to see each restaurant's results.

violation: toxic cleaning material not labeled (corrected)

Sakura Japanese Seafood & Steakhouse: 8369 Leesburg Pike #10, Vienna, VA 22182, last inspection: Sept. 15

violations: cooked rice not properly cooled within six hours, miso soup ot dated properly, sanitizer concentration not high enough, utensils not cleaned properly (all corrected), improper method of cooling rice
