When and Where to Enjoy July 4 Festivities in Vienna
Prepare for a fireworks display on Independence Eve and the debut of a new town-wide chili dog eating contest.

The July 4 holiday is fast approaching, and the town of Vienna has a full lineup of events and activities for residents to enjoy during the Independence Day weekend.
The celebration will kick off a day early on Friday, July 3, with the town’s Rockin’ Independence Eve Fireworks Show. The evening will open with a concert by the band Fat Chance in Yeonas Park beginning at 7 p.m., and a fireworks display will take place at Southside Park shortly after dark at approximately 9:15 p.m.
Seating for the event will be available at Yeonas Park as well as limited seating near the playground at Southside Park, and the Little League concession stand will be open.

The town is advising its residents that the following roads will be closed beginning at 7:30 p.m. that evening in preparation for the fireworks:
- Patrick Street
- Patrick Circle
- Ross Drive (from Cottage to George Streets)
- George Street (from Cottage Street to Ross Drive)
Then, on the big day itself, the town will host its Red, White & Blue on the Green celebration from noon until 5 p.m.

The day will feature plenty of barbecue, live music, a kids pie eating contest and the town’s first annual Chili Dog Eating Contest.
The contest will take place at 144 Maple Ave. from noon until 2 p.m., and participants must be at least 18 years of age. There is only room for 10 participants, and there is a $20 fee to enter. Registration is available at the Vienna Community Center.
