Vienna Police Investigate Smashed Vehicle Windows By Vandals Throwing Pumpkins
Vienna Police reported several residents' car windows were smashed by pumpkins and someone threw or shot something at a sweeper truck.

VIENNA, VA — Vienna Police investigated a series of reports of pumpkin-related vandalism over the past week.
Several residents of Vienna had their car windows smashed by vandals throwing pumpkins at the vehicles. On Cottage Lane, a resident had their windshield smashed by a pumpkin, and another resident on the same street had their rear window smashed by a pumpkin.
A resident who lives on Ross Drive had their vehicle vandalized for the second time in a week by people throwing pumpkins at it. In the most recent case, vandals damaged the vehicle's windshield and driver’s side door above the window.

Between Oct. 14 at 9 p.m. and Oct. 15 at 7:00 a.m.
A resident reported that someone threw a pumpkin at their parked vehicle, smashing the windshield and damaging the hood.

A resident reported that someone threw a pumpkin at their parked vehicle, shattering the rear window.

1200 block Ross Drive, SW
Oct. 15 between midnight and 12:30 a.m.
A resident reported that someone threw a pumpkin at his parked vehicle, causing damage to the windshield and driver’s side door above the window. This was the second time the vehicle was vandalized in this manner within a few days. (Reference Oct. 15 Highlights - Incident #21-006081).

A resident reported that her parked vehicle was damaged when someone threw a pumpkin at it.

100 block Patrick Street, SE
Oct. 17 at 11 p.m.
Officers responded to assist rescue personnel with a resident who suffered a head injury after being struck. It was determined that the resident was intoxicated and caused the injury to himself. He refused treatment by rescue personnel. The resident’s family member was provided with information on resources and services that are available to the man.
Arrest – Domestic Assault 21-006244
Cedar Lane, SE
Oct. 20 at 1:06 a.m.
A resident assaulted his adult daughter. PFC McElhattan arrested a 76-year-old man from Cedar Lane, SE, Vienna. He was transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center where he was charged with Domestic Assault and an Emergency Protective Order was issued.

Oct. 21 between 2 a.m. and 2:17 a.m.
The driver of a sweeper truck reported that someone either threw or shot something at the vehicle, causing damage to the passenger side window. Officers searched the area extensively but did not locate the person who caused the damage.
