Wine Class "Better Know a Region: The Finger Lakes of New York"

Join us for another bi-weekly wine class at The Wine Outlet

Would you like to know more about wine? Want to show off to your friends? Want to impress that date? You want to command your boss’ respect? Want to nerd out with me? Then you’d Better Know a Region! We have a new class that we will teach every other week from 7:00-8:00, and we will go in-depth with instruction while tasting wine from the area. We are asking for a modest fee of $5/person to cover our costs.

Thursday, August 13th: The Finger Lakes of New York
In the 1960’s, growing quality European-style wine or “Vinifera” was thought of as not necessarily impossible, but highly improbable. People thought that it was the cold weather that made the vines produce less than stellar quality juice. Was it?
We will talk about the history of Finger Lakes wine, as well as how and why it came to such high quality. We will also talk about people such as Dr. Konstantin Frank and Charles Fournier and the contribution they had and still have toward the industry.

Because of turnout, we have an RSVP list on hand. We have roughly space for 15 people, so the first to sign up will have priority seating. Call us at 703-639-0155 to reserve your spot!
