Wolf Trap Accepting Grant Applications From High School Performing Arts Teachers
Wolf Trap is accepting applications from D.C. area teachers for this year's Grants for High School Performing Arts Teachers Program.

VIENNA, VA — The Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts is accepting applications for this year’s Grants for High School Performing Arts Teachers Program.
The grants are available to teachers across the D.C. area. The grant application deadline is Nov. 15, and grantees will be named in December for the 2021-22 school year.
Wolf Trap has added “Arts and Social Change” as a category to support teachers who wish to use art as a medium for addressing inequalities within their communities, inspire dialogue and offer solutions.

Additional grant categories include:
- Artist Residencies with professional performing artists to support and supplement classroom work.
- Master Classes with visiting guest artists.
- Commissions of an original dance, music, or theater piece.
- Technology in the Arts to support technological improvements that may allow for further educational opportunities in the arts and encourage technical and media applications in instruction.
- Arts and the Environment, to celebrate the relationship between art and nature by using the arts to help protect the environment.
- Arts Integration to explore core subjects or STEM classes through an artistic discipline.
Wolf Trap plans to award grants of up to $5,000 to public high school teachers who are working to bring new and exciting performing arts experiences to their students. Applicants must be a public high school teacher of music, dance, or theater teaching in Fairfax County, Loudoun County and Arlington County in Virginia, or in Washington, D.C., Montgomery County, Maryland, Prince George’s County, Maryland.

Each project must culminate in a presentation of student learning in spring 2022 and be adaptable to both an in-school and a virtual teaching environment.
The application deadline is Nov. 15. Grant awardees will be notified in December. Project implementation and completion will take place between January and June 2022.
