Black Bear Spotted NOT Hibernating

Before the snow began in earnest last weekend, a black bear was spotted climbing a tree in the area, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.

Bankrupt Gymboree Closing Stores, Including 9 In NoVA

Children's clothing retailer Gymboree is filing for bankruptcy for a second time in three years and will close its remaining 900 stores, according to media reports. That includes nine locations in northern Virginia.

The future of Sears and its Kmart brand are expected to be decided Monday in New York bankruptcy court. The chain has 11 Virginia locations that could close.

Rose McGowan Gets Fine For Loudoun Drug Charge

Actress and activist Rose McGowan pleaded no contest to a reduced cocaine possession charge Monday morning at the Loudoun County Courthouse. McGowan allegedly had cocaine in her wallet when she disembarked from a United Airlines flight at Dulles International Airport.
