Police Identify Victim of Fatal Crash on Van Dorn Street
Police seeking anyone who may have seen white Ford Mustang before the crash took place.
UPDATE 8:30 p.m.: Alexandria Police have identified the driver who was killed in the one-car crash early Tuesday as Anthony Freedman, 46, of Fairfax County. The collision is still under investigation.
UPDATE 11:45 a.m.:
The Alexandria Police Department is investigating a fatal traffic collision that occurred this morning on Van Dorn Street near W. Braddock Road. At approximately 3:40 a.m., a vehicle traveling northbound on Van Dorn Street left the roadway and struck a building. The driver was found deceased inside the vehicle.

The vehicle involved in the collision was a newer model white Ford Mustang. Police ask that anyone who witnessed this vehicle in the area early this morning contact Investigator Diana Barrett at 703.746.6873.

UPDATE 8:50 a.m.: The fatal accident Tuesday morning on Van Dorn Street was a single-vehicle that crashed into a building, according to Alexandria Police spokeswoman Crystal Nosal.
The victim was declared dead at the scene, she said.
No information is currently being released about the victim.

There has been a fatal crash that has shut down Van Dorn Street in Alexandria Tuesday morning, according to alerts sent out by the police department:
- Tuesday, 4:37 a.m.: “The Alexandria Police Department has SHUT DOWN Van Dorn Street between Braddock Road and Kenmore Avenue for fatality traffic collision. Please avoid area and drive safely.”
- Tuesday, 8:14 a.m.: “Van Dorn Street from Kenmore Ave to Braddock Rd will continue to be shut down for approximately six hours.”
