WOODBRIDGE, VA — A 17-year-old girl from Woodbridge was charged with burglary in connection with a break-in that occurred on Sunday, according to a report from the Prince William County Police Department. Authorities did not release the name of the girl because she is a juvenile.

On Sunday morning, police officers responded to a home in the 1600 block of Old Bridge Road to investigate a burglary. The homeowner told police that a loud noise from the lower level woke her up. She heard more noises and got out of bed, according to police.

The woman then spoke briefly to a person who broke into her home, authorities said. She called police and the would-be burglar fled before police arrived. Authorities did not say whether any items were taken from the home.
