2 Teens Shot At Freedom High School Football Game: Police
Two teenagers were injured in a shooting at Freedom High School on Friday night after a football game ended early due to rain.
WOODBRIDGE, VA — A 14-year-old girl and a 15-year-old boy were injured on Friday night in a shooting at Freedom High School, according to the Prince William County Police Department. The shooting occurred after a high school football game.
The victims' injuries were not considered life-threatening, police said. In a news release, authorities said the girl was grazed in the foot and the boy was struck in the upper body.
The shooting occurred just after 9 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 27. Investigators determined that the shots were fired in Freedom High School's parking lot after a football game was ended early due to rain.

First responders found the two victims, who were taken to nearby hospitals. The parents of the victims were notified on Friday night. "The scene was quickly contained as officers were already present at the school for security, and a methodical search was conducted," authorities wrote in a report.
Officers set up a meeting point for students and parents at Northern Virginia Community College's Woodbridge Campus, which is adjacent to the high school.

In updates, the police department emphasized that the shooting was no longer active incident after the initial shots were fired. No shooter was identified or located on Friday night.
