Dumfries Teen Shot, Killed Man In 2022 Due To Dispute With Family Member: Police
A teenager from Dumfries has been charged in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred in November 2022, police said.

DUMFRIES, VA — An 18-year-old from Dumfries has been charged in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred in November, authorities said. Investigators believe the teen shot and killed a victim after a dispute involving a family member.
Last year, authorities identified the victim as 44-year-old from Demetrious Levar Graham from Woodbridge. He was pronounced dead after police officers found him dead in a car on Nov. 12, 2022.
The Prince William County Police Department has not publicly identified the suspect, who is an 18-year-old man. The shooting occurred when the suspect was 17 years old, and a Virginia law protects the identities of minors who are accused of crimes.

The suspect, who is being charged as a juvenile, is charged with murder, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a juvenile. His court date is pending and he is being held without bond.
Just after 5:30 a.m. on Nov. 12, officers were called to the area of Williamstown and Old Triangle roads after multiple people reported hearing gunshots. When officers arrived, they found a car near Morgan Court that was struck by gunfire, police said.

Officers found a man, Graham, inside the car with gunshot injuries, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene. A police K-9 searched the area and found no one else nearby, police said.

Surveillance video showed a shirtless man fire multiple shots at Graham's vehicle. The shooter then ran away as Graham's vehicle rolled forward before stopping when it hit a parked car.
Authorities charged the 18-year-old suspect on Wednesday. He was served with the charges when he appeared in court for an unrelated case, the police department said.
