4 Reputed MS-13 Gang Members Charged In Assault: Police

Prince William authorities charged four reputed MS-13 gang members in connection with a February assault at Sabor Latino in Woodbridge.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — Four men reputed to be members of the MS-13 street gang were charged with assault after an attack sent a victim to the hospital with head injuries, officials said.

An investigation by the Prince William County Gang Unit and the Northern Virginia Gang Task Force found firearms, narcotics, and gang paraphernalia, according to a report from the police department.

The investigation stemmed from an assault outside the Sabor Latino restaurant in Woodbridge in February. The victim lost consciousness, and suffered significant head injuries, according to police. He was taken to an area hospital for treatment.

Police identified the victim as a 31-year-old man and said the attack was random.

During the investigation, detectives identified four suspects: Christopher Calix-Rivas, Alexander Castro De La Luz, Moises Alfaro Olivar, and Gustavo Romero-Serpas. Calix-Rivas and Romero-Serpas are Woodbridge residents. The other men are from Springfield, police said.

Police said the suspects are members of the MS-13 street gang. The victim had no connection to any gang, according to authorities.

During their investigation, detectives executed multiple search warrants for the suspects. Officers found "firearms, narcotics, ammunition, gang paraphernalia, and money," according to a police report.

Calix-Rivas is charged with aggravated malicious wounding, distribution of a controlled substance, possession of a firearm while in possession of certain substances, and two counts of gang participation.

The other three suspects were charged with malicious wounding by mob and gang participation.

All four men are being held without bond. Their court date is scheduled for April 28, 2021.
