Catching Killers Of Young Mother Remains Top Priority For Police

The FBI and the Prince William County police are asking for the public's help in finding the killers of Glenda Marisol Coca-Romero.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — On the sixth anniversary of the murder of Glenda Marisol Coca-Romero, the FBI's Washington Field Office and the Prince William County Police Department are asking for the public's help in identifying the men involved in the murder of the 21-year-old. Just before closing, around 9 p.m. on Feb. 21, 2014, three men entered Platanillos Grocery and Jewelry in Woodbridge and killed the young mother.

After shooting Coca-Romero, who came to the United States from El Salvador, and one of her co-workers, the suspects immediately fled the store on Route 1 without taking any property or money. Coca-Romero died at the scene, while her co-worker was transported to an area hospital with critical injuries and survived the shooting.

Coca-Romero's daughter is now almost 7 years old.

Since the incident, the Prince William County Police Department has worked with the FBI's Washington Field Office to offer a $20,000 reward for the arrest and conviction of the people responsible for Coca-Romero's murder. In addition to the reward money, the FBI has offered numerous resources to aid in the investigation.

"The FBI and the Prince William County Police Department are committed to investigating this case and bringing justice for Glenda Marisol Coca-Romero and her family," the two law enforcement agencies said in a statement.

People who lived or were present in the area of the Platanillos Grocery and Jewelry in Woodbridge on Feb. 21, 2014, and noticed anything suspicious, are asked to provide information to the police. Surveillance footage can be viewed on the Prince William County Police YouTube channel.

Law enforcement agencies are asking anyone with information about the killing to call the FBI Washington Field Office at 202-278-2000 or the Prince William County Police Department at 703-792-7000. Information can also be submitted online at tips.fbi.gov. All tips can remain anonymous.
