Chevy Chase Bank Replaced by Capital One Bank
Woodbridge branches complete with new signage.

As of Monday, Sept. 13, Chevy Chase Bank officially became Capital One Bank. Replacing the beige and red of the familiar Chevy Chase Bank signage in Woodbridge at the Merchant Plaza location is a red, white and blue Capital One Bank signs. Capital One purchased Chevy Chase Bank back in 2008.
"We are very excited to introduce the Capital One Bank name to the Washington, D.C. region, especially because this area has been our company's headquarters for many years," said Capital One Bank Mid-Atlantic Regional President James Jackson in the company's press release about the rebranding. "As a local business, Capital One is already deeply involved in this community, and the acquisition of Chevy Chase Bank made this connection even stronger. While the signs on the door are changing, one thing that certainly won't change is our commitment to the local community," added Jackson.
As a result of the change, former Chevy Chase Bank customers will receive additional benefits previously unavailable to them. Among these benefits is the opportunity to reach a customer service representative 24 hours a day, seven days a week, access to financial services and products available to Capital One Bank customers such as credit cards and auto loans, mobile banking, and more.

Companies who previously handled their business with Chevy Chase Bank can expect the same level of service and commitment, but with a with a more personalized focus on each individual business from specialists at the bank.
Capital One, based in McLean, VA, is the ninth largest bank in the country and the fifth largest for deposits.
